1/2" (13mm) boning is excellent for children, teen, or the less serious dancer's bodice. It has good flexibility without losing support. The 1/2" can be used for a center bone with the 3/4" casing. It is trimmed with scissors, then the edges are lightly sanded to smooth any burrs. It can be washed without issues.
